Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 4, 2026
This policy applies to every app published by Athanor Studio, and to this website. It explains what data our apps may collect, why, with whom it may be shared, and the rights you have. Our apps do not all work the same way: the general terms below describe everything we may do, and the app-specific notes at the end say what each app actually does. Where they differ, the app-specific note takes precedence.
Who we are
Athanor Studio is an independent app studio based in Paris, France. For any question about your data, write to climbr@athanor-studio.io.
What we may collect
- Data you provide — for example when you create a profile, enter content in the app (meals, routes, notes…), or contact support.
- Content you choose to analyse — for example a photo you take in the app so that it can be processed (a meal, a climbing wall). See the app-specific notes for where that content goes.
- Device permissions you grant — camera, photo library, location, health data. Each is requested only when the feature that needs it is used, and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.
- Technical data — device model, OS version, app version, crash reports, and anonymous usage events, when the app includes analytics or crash reporting.
- Advertising identifiers — only in apps that show ads, and only with your consent where the law requires it.
Why
- To provide the features you use — this is the only purpose common to all our apps.
- To keep our apps stable and secure (crash reports, abuse prevention).
- To understand how our apps are used and improve them (analytics).
- To show ads and measure them, in the apps that are ad-supported.
Legal basis
- Performance of the service for the data needed to run the feature you use.
- Consent for personalised advertising and third-party analytics, where required. You can withdraw it at any time from the app's settings or from iOS Settings.
- Legitimate interest for stability, security and internal analytics.
- Legal obligation where the law requires us to keep or disclose data.
With whom data may be shared
We never sell your personal data. Depending on the app, data may be processed by service providers acting on our behalf:
- Infrastructure and processing — Google Cloud / Firebase (backend, crash reporting, app integrity checks), and specialised providers named in the app-specific notes when an app sends content to be analysed.
- Analytics — such as Firebase, Adjust, Mixpanel or GameAnalytics, in the apps that use them.
- Advertising — such as AdMob, in the apps that show ads.
- Apple — the App Store, Apple Maps, Apple Health, or any Apple service the app relies on, under Apple's privacy policy.
- Authorities — only when we are legally required to.
Retention
We keep data no longer than the feature needs it. Content stored only on your device stays there until you delete it or the app. Data held on our servers is kept at most 13 months, except aggregated first-party analytics, kept up to 25 months. Content sent for one-off analysis is processed for that request and not retained, unless an app-specific note says otherwise.
International transfers
Some providers are located outside the European Union. In that case the transfer relies on an adequacy decision or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Children
Our apps are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to your data, its correction, its deletion, its portability, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent at any time. For data stored only on your device, deleting the app is the fastest way to exercise deletion. For anything else, write to climbr@athanor-studio.io; we answer within a month. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL.
App-specific notes
Climbr — indoor bouldering logbook
- No account, no ads.
- Your logbook stays on your device — walls, routes, attempts, profile name and photo are stored locally and never synced. Deleting the app deletes them.
- Wall photos are analysed by our server. When you scan a wall, the photo is sent to our backend (Google Cloud / Firebase) to detect the holds. It is processed in memory for that request and not stored; we keep only technical logs (timing, number of holds), never the image.
- Analytics and attribution — the app uses Mixpanel (product analytics: which screens are used, whether a scan succeeds, never the photo nor your routes) and Tenjin (install attribution), to understand how the app is used. Neither is used for advertising.
- Location, if allowed, is used only while the app is open, to show climbing gyms around you through Apple Maps. It is not sent to us.
- Camera and photo library are used only to take or pick the wall photo you choose to scan.
Healthy Guru — nutrition coach
- Analytics and attribution — the app uses Adjust (install attribution), Mixpanel (product analytics) and Firebase (crash reporting and backend), to understand how the app is used and keep it stable.
- No ads. Healthy Guru shows no advertising and uses no advertising partner.
- Meal photos you take in the app are sent to our backend to be analysed and turned into nutrition data; the resulting entries are part of your food log.
- Apple Health — if you allow it, activity data is read from Apple Health to adjust your daily targets. Health data is never used for advertising and never shared with the partners above.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top tells you when. Material changes are announced in the app or on this page.
